Many varied community and corporate scholarship programs are available to Briarcliffe students. These programs are often publicized in organizational newsletters and high school guidance offices. The following are descriptions of scholarship opportunities currently offered by Briarcliffe College:
Briarcliffe College provides students a limited amount of grant/scholarship funds each year. When funds are depleted, grant/scholarship availability no longer exists for the current award year. Furthermore, Briarcliffe College reserves the right to change eligibility criteria without prior notice.
ALUMNI
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend Briarcliffe College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the date prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Have taken all three parts of the official Accuplacer Exam (Arithmetic, Reading, and Writing).
- Achieve at least the indicated scores per category:
a. Arithmetic - 70
b. Reading - 65
c. Writing - 67 (8) (converted score) Accuplacer
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $12,000 divided equally for up to four consecutive semesters as a full-time student in an Associate Degree program and divided equally up to eight consecutive semesters as a full-time student in a Bachelor's Degree program.
- A student who qualifies for the Alumni, Transfer or Upper Division Scholarships, the greatest award amount of only one of these scholarships will be awarded.
- The above scholarship funds may only be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state and outside sponsored grants and scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.
- Scholarship winners must be continuously enrolled full-time, maintain a minimum of 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average, and must continue to satisfy the stated Standards of Academic Progress as defined in the College catalog to remain eligible.
MATH EXCELLENCE
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS THE DAY PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor degree program.
- Have taken all three parts of the official Accuplacer Exam (Arithmetic, Reading, and Writing).
- Achieve a score of at least 70 on the Arithmetic portion of the Accuplacer exam.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in amounts ranging from $1,500 to $7,000 divided equally for up to four consecutive semesters as a full-time student for an Associate Degree program and divided equally for up to eight consecutive semesters as a full-time student for a bachelor's degree program.
- A student who qualifies for the Alumni, Transfer or Upper Division Scholarships will not qualify for the Math Excellence Scholarship; the greatest award amount of only one of these scholarships will be awarded.
- The above scholarship funds may only be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

READING EXCELLENCE
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Have taken all three parts of the official Accuplacer Exam (Arithmetic, Reading, and Writing).
- Achieve a score of at least 90 on the Reading or Writing portion of the Accuplacer exam.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in amounts ranging from $1,500 to $7,000 divided equally for up to four consecutive
semesters as a full-time student for an Associate degree program and divided equally for up to eight consecutive
semesters as a full-time student for
a bachelor's degree program.
- A student who qualifies for the Alumni, Transfer, or Upper Division Scholarships
will not qualify for the Reading Excellence Scholarship; the greatest award amount
of only one of these scholarships will
be awarded.
- The above scholarship funds may only
be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all Federal, State, and outside sponsored grants and

PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete a scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS JUNE 28TH.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or
Bachelor Degree program.
- Have earned at least a minimum CGPA of 80% at the time of high school graduation or scored on the SAT a minimum of 1070
or higher (math and verbal only).
- Have earned a composite score of 23
or above on the ACT test.
- Attach an unofficial high school transcript to the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $6,000 divided equally for up to four consecutive semesters as a full-time student for an Associate Degree program and divided equally
for up to eight consecutive semesters
as a full-time student for a bachelor's
degree program.
- The above scholarship funds may only
be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable
to the student. If a student's enrollment

PROGRAM SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Submission deadline for this scholarship is February 28th.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Attach to the application
a typewritten one-page essay on
"Why you are interested in enrolling
in a specific program."
- Submit and attach two (2) letters of
reference from non-family members.
- Attach an unofficial high school transcript to the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in amounts ranging from $500 to $12,000 divided equally for up to four consecutive semesters as a full-time student for an Associate Degree program and divided equally
for up to eight consecutive semesters
as a full-time student for a Bachelor's
Degree program.
- The above scholarship funds may only
be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or

UPPER DIVISION SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend Briarcliffe College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is March 1st.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
Achieve at least a Junior status (earned
60 credits) without having had any
interruption in enrollment at Briarcliffe
while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative
average or higher and pursuing
a Degree Degree.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the
amount of $5,000 divided over 4
consecutive semesters.
- A student who qualifies for the Alumni,
Transfer, or Upper Division Scholarships,
will receive the greatest award amount
of only one of these scholarships.
- The above scholarship funds may only
be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition
and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or

DEGREE COMPLETION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend Briarcliffe College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS THE DAY PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Have earned a diploma from Briarcliffe College or CEC School with a 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average without having had any interruption in your studies at Briarcliffe.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the
amount of $750 per semester for up to
2 consecutive semesters for an Associate Degree program or up to 4 consecutive semesters for a degree degree.
- A student who qualifies for the Degree Completion, Transfer or Upper Division Scholarships, will receive the greatest award amount of only one of these scholarships.
- The above scholarship funds may only
be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable
to the student. If a student's enrollment
is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to assisting students with the cost of college who wish to complete their degree. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Have earned at least 12 credits with a
Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5
or higher from a regionally accredited
college or *CEC School and be pursuing an Associate or Baccalaureate Degree
at Briarcliffe College.
- Attach an unofficial copy of their college
transcript.
Award Amounts
- Students who have CGPA of between 2.5 or higher may be granted an award of $1,000 per consecutive semester but not to exceed a total scholarship amount of $4,000 for an Associate Degree program or $8,000 for a baccalaureate degree.
- A student who qualifies for the Alumni,
Transfer, or Upper Division Scholarships,
will receive the greatest award amount of only one of these scholarships.
- The above scholarship funds may only be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all Federal, State, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.

NY STATE PAROLE AND CORRECTIONS OFFICERS SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete the scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Be a NYSPCO employee or be the spouse
or a dependent child of an
NYSPCO employee.
- Present proof of employment with this application and attach a copy.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $1,000 per semester for 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program and for 8 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

NYC, NASSAU, AND SUFFOLK POLICE DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this Scholarship Application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Be a NYC, Nassau, or Suffolk Police Department employee, or retired
employee, be the spouse or a dependent child of an NYC, Nassau, or Suffolk Police Department employee.
- Attach a valid NYC, Nassau, or Suffolk Police Department employee card to
the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $1,000 per semester for 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program; and for 8
consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

NEW YORK CITY FIRE AND RESCUE SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to students who attend the College. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS THE DAY PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Be a NYC Fire and Rescue active or
retired employee or be the spouse or a
dependent child of an LIFR employee.
- Present proof of valid NYC Fire and Rescue employment or retirement from NYC Fire and Rescue with the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $1,000 per semester for 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program; and for
8 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

MTA AND LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Be a MTA or LIRR employee or be the
spouse or a dependent child of an MTA
or LIRR employee.
- Present a valid MTA or LIRR membership
card with this application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $1,000 per semester for 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program; and for 8
consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her
entire scholarship, the funds will be
returned to the scholarship fund.
- Scholarship recipients must be continuously enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average and must continue to satisfy the School's stated Standards of Academic Progress as defined in the School's catalog to remain eligible for the Scholarship.
LONG ISLAND FIRE AND RESCUE SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this Scholarship Application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission is the day prior to the start of classes.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated
student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Be an LIFR active or retired employee or be the spouse or a dependent child of
an LIFR employee.
- Present proof of valid LIFR membership with this application and attach a copy.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the
amount of $1,000 per semester for
4 consecutive semesters per recipient
enrolled in an Associate Degree program;
and for 8 consecutive semesters per
recipient enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree
program.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.
- Scholarship recipient must be continuously enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average and must continue to satisfy the School's stated Standards of Academic Progress as defined in the School's catalog to remain eligible for the Scholarship.
MERIT OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College will provide the Merit Opportunity Scholarship to deserving students who have exhausted all federal, state, and private funding sources and have an outstanding balance. The number and award amount will vary depending on student need, the number of applicants, and the availability of funds. Recipients are selected on the basis of motivation, merit, need, and potential. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS THE DAY PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Have completed the financial aid process.
- Submit and attach to the application a typewritten one-page essay on "How I will benefit from a Briarcliffe College education."
Award Amounts
- This is one-time scholarship, available
for the student's first award year.
- This scholarship will pay up to $2,000 per semester up to two (2) semesters depending on the student's current
need as a full-time student in a degree granting program.
- The above scholarship funds may only be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all federal, state, and outside sponsored grants and
scholarships are applied to tuition and fees.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or
otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.
- Scholarship recipients must be continuously enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average
and must continue to satisfy the School's
stated Standards of Academic Progress
as defined in the School's catalog to
remain eligible for the Scholarship.
INSTITUTIONAL GRANT
The Institutional Grant Fund has been created to assist the dependent student, whose parent applies for a PLUS loan but is denied as well as the independent student who applies for the Signature loan but cannot find a co-borrower and is ineligible for the Signature loan. This assistance will be provided to reduce the financial burden of cost of education. To be considered for the Grant of up to $2000 per semester, please complete this grant application and return it to the Financial Aid Office at the College.
General Grant Rules:
- Students must have a valid ISIR on file.
- Students must maintain full time enrollment to retain the grant each term.
- Students must exhaust all financing options. There are no exceptions.
- All decisions must be documented. For example, student applied for a Signature loan with co-borrower and was denied. Parent PLUS pre-approval shows a denial.
- The Institutional Grant may be offered up to a maximum of $2,000 per semester to students who have exhausted all required funding sources. The amount of the grant will vary depending upon the funding sources.
- Grant recipients must be continuously enrolled and maintain a minimum of 2.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average and must continue to satisfy the College's stated Standards of Academic Progress as defined in the College's catalog to remain eligible for the Grant.
- Disbursements for grant recipients will be during the last week of the second session of the semester.
- Grant money will be disbursed once per semester. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws, drops, or is dismissed, any future disbursements will be forfeited and any portion of the scholarship not yet applied to the student's account will be returned to the scholarship fund.
- Briarcliffe College makes a limited amount of money available each year. When funds are depleted, scholarship availability no longer exists. Furthermore, Briarcliffe College reserves the right to change eligibility criteria without prior notice.
HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete this Scholarship Application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION FOR THE JULY SESSION IS JUNE 15.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Have earned at least a minimum CGPA of 80% at the time of graduation or scored on the SAT a minimum of 1000 or higher (math and verbal only).
- Compose a 500 word type-written essay - "Obtaining a degree is important to me because..."
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from HS Faculty or Administration.
- Attach an unofficial high school transcript to the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $4,000 over 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program; $8,000 over 8 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.
- This scholarship can not be combined with the Upper Division or Transfer scholarships.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

BOCES H.S. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
Briarcliffe College is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted students who attend the College. To be considered for this scholarship, please complete the scholarship application and return it to the Briarcliffe College Financial Aid Office. Deadline for submission for the July session is June 15. Deadline for submission for the fall semester is July 15.
Scholarship Criteria - Applicant must:
- Be a first time full-time matriculated student enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor Degree program.
- Have earned a grade of 80% or better.
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from High School faculty or Administration.
- Compose a 500 word type-written essay - "Obtaining a degree is important to me because..."
- Attach an unofficial high school transcript to the application.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $2,000 over 4 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in an Associate Degree program; $4,000 over 8 consecutive semesters per recipient enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.
- This scholarship can not be combined with the Upper Division or Transfer scholarships.
- There will be no restrictions based upon age, race, creed, color, or sex.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the scholarship fund.

PETER T. AFFATATO
FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
In order to assist Briarcliffe College students, the Career Education Scholarship Fund (CESF) has established the Peter T. Affatato Foundation Scholarship (PAFS). The PAFS is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted Briarcliffe College students. Deadline for submission for this Scholarship is March 1st.
Applicants must:
- Complete and submit the Peter T. Affatato Foundation Scholarship Application.
- Have successfully completed 30 credits at the time of application submission.
- Have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 at the time of application submission.
- Show proof of being an active member in Briarcliffe College campus activities such as clubs, and/or academic competitions, i.e., SIFE, etc. and/or community service.
- Supply two (2) letters of recommendation, one (1) from a faculty member and one (1) from a non-family member.
- Maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least a 3.5 and meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress criteria to remain eligible for this scholarship at Briarcliffe.
- Be enrolled continuously as a full-time student (full-time defined as at least 12 credits per semester) at Briarcliffe College.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 and disbursed over the total number of semesters completed in the award year following the application deadline.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. Scholarship monies are paid directly to Briarcliffe College at the end of each semester in the academic year. Briarcliffe College uses the funds to defray the student's expenses. If a student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the academic year's conclusion, any unused portion of the scholarship reverts back to PAFS pursuant to the School's refund policy.
- The above grant funds may only be applied to tuition, fees, residence hall, books, and supplies after all other financial aid is credited and must be reapplied for each new award year.
- Disbursement of scholarship funds cannot exceed the direct cost of education. Scholarship money will be disbursed once per semester. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws, drops, or is dismissed, any future disbursements will be forfeited and any portion of the scholarship not yet applied to the student's account will be returned to the scholarship fund.
PETER AFFATATO SUMMER TEXTBOOK SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION (PASTS)
In honor of Mr. Peter Affatato Esq., the former chairman emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Briarcliffe College, the Harbour College Bookstore is offering a limited number of summer textbook scholarships to Briarcliffe College continuing students that have achieved high academic standards. The PASTS is dedicated to providing scholarships to academically gifted Briarcliffe College continuing students.
General Scholarship Rules
- All applicants must have successfully earned at least 30 credits at the time of application.
- Have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at time of application.
- Applicants will be accepted in the date order the applications are received and until the scholarship fund is exhausted.
Award Amounts
- Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $250 per recipient.
- There will be no restrictions based upon race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, gender or marital status.
- Scholarship funds are non-refundable to the student. If a student withdraws or otherwise terminates his/her attendance at the school prior to the use of his/her entire scholarship, the funds will be returned to the PASTS fund.
- Scholarship funds will be disbursed as a credit (Bookstore Voucher) in the Harbour College Stores over the summer semester.
- Student must be enrolled at least for 6 credits during the summer terms.
KNAPP-SWEZEY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Knapp-Swezey Foundation Scholarship Fund is dedicated to providing scholarships to both needy and academically gifted students who attend the Briarcliffe College Patchogue Campus.
Applicants must:
- Either be attending or enrolled in a regular program at Briarcliffe College Patchogue Campus and must reside within the town of Brookhaven.
- Be reviewed and students will be judged on the following criteria:
- Financial Need (to be determined by School).
- Freshman candidates will be assessed on the basis of need only.
- Continuing students will be assessed on the basis of need and Academics.
- Be continuously enrolled and maintain a minimum of 3.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average and must continue to satisfy the School's stated Standards of Academic Progress as defined in the School's catalog to remain eligible for the Scholarship. Scholarship funds will be disbursed over the award year by semester.
Award Amounts
To be considered for a scholarship of $500 to $2,000 per academic award year from the Knapp-Swezey Foundation Scholarship Fund, please complete this Scholarship Application and return it to the Financial Aid Office at your School.
Disbursement of scholarship funds cannot exceed the direct cost of education. Scholarship money will be disbursed once per semester. If a student's enrollment is canceled or the student withdraws, drops, or is dismissed, any future disbursements will be forfeited and any portion of the scholarship not yet applied to the student's account will be returned to the scholarship fund.
REINSTATEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
Students who have received any of the above listed scholarships or grants but have subsequently lost the scholarship or grant due to not maintaining all Satisfactory Academic Progress criteria, may apply for reinstatement of the scholarship or grant once the student has reestablished the required Satisfactory Academic Progress criteria by applying for reinstatement of their scholarship or grant.
Reinstatement requires the completion of the "Scholarship Reinstatement Application." All applications for the above listed scholarships and grants can be accessed through the Student Portal or the Financial Aid Office.
ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS
A number of athletic scholarships varying in amount are made each year to students participating in USCAA Division II sports, depending upon the funds available and the number of eligible candidates.
Applicants must:
- Be involved in an intercollegiate athletic program.
- Carry at least 12 credits per semester.
- Maintain a 2.0 average.
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Apply for TAP and PELL each academic year, in as much as the athletic scholarship will serve to supplement all outside awards.
Recommendations for these awards are made by the Director of Athletics. Please contact the athletic department for additional requirements regarding athletic scholarships.
